Objective
The Deeper into Hong Kong: Creative Itinerary Design Competition aims to encourage travel agents to design in-depth themed itineraries and tourism products that are unique and high-quality, so as to attract visitors to explore the unique charm of Hong Kong and its cultural diversity where East meets West, and to experience the city as never before; thereby enhancing the competitiveness and sustainable development of the Hong Kong travel industry.
Itinerary Themes
The six itinerary themes include “Great Green Escapes”, “Fun Water Adventure”, “Legacy of Joy”, “HK Pop Culture”, “Journey Through National History”, and “Unconventional Journey.” Each licensed travel agent can submit no more than five itineraries for each theme to develop more creative options for tourists to explore this city.
Competition Flow
The competition is divided into two rounds: first assessment and final assessment
Judging Criteria of First Assessment
i. Design concept of the itinerary and its relevance to the selected theme

- The composition of the theme-related elements should be 70%.
ii. Itinerary Design

Creativity
Think outside the box and/or include a discovery of the city’s hidden gems

Originality
Develop a totally new travel experience or redesign a conventional itinerary in a new or different way

Practicability
How viable the itinerary is and the extent to which it delivers on what it promises

Attractiveness and Marketability
Appealing to visitors and creating truly memorable experiences
iii. Additional points will be awarded if the entered itinerary

Includes at least one night’s stay in Hong Kong

Includes any tourism events subsidised by the government
Final Assessment
Phase 1

Online Voting
All the thirty (30) Signature Itineraries will participate in the online poll for public voting. The two (2) Signature Itineraries from each theme with the highest number of votes will enter Phase 2, there will be a total of twelve (12) Signature Itineraries.

Phase 2

Panel Assessment
The itinerary with highest score under each theme will win the competition and award the Supreme Itinerary Award.
Judging Criteria
- Ability to help the Judging Panel understand the creative idea behind the itinerary and its relevance to the selected theme(s)
- Ability to present engaging content and the highlights of the itinerary
- Clarity and comprehension

Announcement of Results

Signature Itinerary winner list was announced on 12 January 2024. Supreme Itinerary and Most Popular Itinerary winner list was announced on 19 March 2024.
How to Vote

Voting Period: From 12 January 2024 (10:00) to 25 January 2024 (23:59)
Holder of a valid Hong Kong telephone number is eligible to vote. Simply pick your favourite itinerary of each theme and complete the registration with required information. Voters who completed the voting procedure may receive a HK$100 shopping gift voucher*.
